one of my trainees approached me earlier to sign a form. as i had signed a lot of these already before, i just went through each pertinent field like clockwork. then the form asked for the date, and as i started writing it down -- novemb... BAM! it hit me.
it was november. the year was ending. 2005 is just around the corner.
holy fuck! i only have 5 months left. 170 days to be exact. i don't even have a wedding gown design yet!
i immediately called my designer, merlene. she was out of town but would be arriving tomorrow. i asked beth, her super nice assistant, if i should be panicking already. she laughed and promptly said no, thus smoothing down my ruffled feathers. she did book me for an appointment with merl this saturday morning though, so that we may already discuss the design of my gown and have my measurements taken. entourage measurements will probably be on the 21st of november, since that's when they are all available.
with calmed nerves, i put down the phone and happily browsed through my collection of wedding gowns downloaded over the net.
when i first saw this design on the left, i fell in love with it! i really like how the low back is so graceful, and the back skirt detail is beautiful. it's an alvina valenta design from her spring 2004 collection. oh, and i love the orchids accent at the gathered train! but then again, i also wanted the embroidery on the bodice to be daintier and i wanted my gown to have a cut at the natural waist instead of the slight dropped waist shown here. i figured that will make me look like i have a longer frame...translated: i may look taller. teehee! after browsing through thousands (yes, thousands!) of gowns at the knot and other sites, i found the embroidery that i wanted. this one on the right is a lazaro design. ooooh, likey!!!
